I am nobody, just someone who is walking the path.

I love to work out. At this point, you’d never know it by looking at me. I’ve been sitting at my desk in front of my laptop working for the last year and a half. But I’ve been craving a good workout and time in the day for a workout routine. You would think that since I create my own projects and make my own schedule I would be able to do that, but guess what?! …

I really like going to the gym. I like the social aspect of it. But I haven’t been in a long time. I like the meditative aspect of working out, pushing my body, feeling my muscles, breathing, and most of all sweating. Girls aren’t supposed to sweat in public, but I love it.

What I don’t love about the gym is all of the noise and visual distraction. Big screen TVs blasting over the hum of the machines are my biggest pet peeve about gyms these days. They are usually placed in the very center of the sight line of every treadmill, stairmaster, stationary bike, and rowing machine in the room. There never seems to be a way to get away from them. I’ve tried a number of different gyms in the area and they are all the same. If I wanted to watch TV, I would stay at home.

So, here’s a new business concept. Gyms that are run like yoga studios. No rules other than it’s a TV and earbud free quiet workout place where people can get some exercise for their body and mind at the same time.

Let me know if you have some cash to invest ;)

I totally agree with your thoughts on “commercial” gyms.

I do most of my exercise outdoors. Only distraction is nature, an almost peaceful distraction.

I find it very funny how people go to the Gym to work out, but sit/stand like zombies watching TV instead of pushing. I believe they also use it as a way of not feeling the pain.

Being able to focus on my breathe for extended periods of time is hard enough. How these people are able to focus on exercising and TV at the same time is beyond me.

I’d give you some spare cash if I had any ;)

    Peace,
