And the grand total for emergency gall bladder surgery is …

$21,865.66

Oh, that is after the Uninsured Patient Discount, and don’t forget, that’s payable immediately.

And to think that one minute prior to surgery I had been debt free for about two years … Oh well, what’s a life for, anyway?

For some reason this is not bothering me …

    Try to be as nice as you can to the bill people and negotiate for reasonable payments, etc. If you have to miss a payment for any reason, smooth things over as best you can.

    I had a medical bill I could not pay back in the day and I did not handle it well. I just denied the problem. They took me to court. Garnished wages. In the end, the hospital has the lawyers.

    If they want my 75 cents a day I get from google they are welcome to it.

    I will call them (or walk over there) on Weds. to see if there are other services I can apply for that will bring that number down a bit.
