Soulful and Sacred Travel   no comments

After hearing a presentation given by Phil Cousineau at Book Passage in Corte Madera the other night on the subject of The Art of Pilgrimage, I started blogging my own ‘deep’ thoughts about travel. Something that is not new to me, but I usually write about an individual place as a sacred spot, rather than as the journey being sacred.

Anyway, Cousineau acted as a trigger for this, for which I am grateful and here are the links to the two posts I’ve done so far:

Tourist, Traveler, Pilgrim

Healthcare …   no comments

How do you feel about it?

For some reason I assume that if someone takes on the cape of Buddhism, they would be for Universal Healthcare. It’s the compassionate thing to do. I don’t like hearing about someone else’s pain due to a corporation’s greed. It’s like one of my Canadian acquaintances said on twitter:

The biggest benefit of our system is that you don’t have to think about it. Sick or hurt, just go and get fixed up. [also] compare it to the zero Canadians with no debt due to health care. Your country is kind of fucked up that way.

Yes, I think so too.

So how do you feel about healthcare in the US? I’d love to hear everyone’s POV.

Weekend Highlight …   no comments

Here was the highlight of my weekend:

Double Rainbow

This is a photograph of only part of it. It was a full double rainbow. It was very brilliant. The second rainbow was faint but if I looked really hard, I could see the whole thing. Neighbors stopped in their tracks while walking their dogs. I looked out my window in amazement at the rain falling in July and saw this. I was already in my PJs but put on my flip-flops to go take a few photos!

It was quite beautiful and made everyone who looked at it very happy!
