My Dog Blog no comments
The dog in my life now has a blog. He’s been bugging me for months now to set one up for him. He’s been posting for a day. He’s so matter of fact in his posts. I don’t know if I find them entertaining because he’s the dog in my life, or if he really is entertaining! Check him out at:

I share a bedroom with a dog. As I look around the room, it doesn’t take long to decide that the room is that of a three year old. Stuffed animals are strewn all over, empty yogurt containers licked and chewed until no flavor is left lie on the floor. The blankets on the bed are rolled up in a very specific configuration, one that gives ultimate comfort while napping. The dog sleeps on the bed. I sleep on the floor.
But it wasn’t until yesterday when the dog was running around the kitchen with a 25lb feedsack over his head that I really began to grok dog world. And I’ve lived in dog world as a tourista for a very long time.
What joy he embodies when the dog food is emptied out of the paper sack and into his bin and he can take the empty sack and lick lick lick until all the crumbs and flavor are gone. He pushes deeper into the sack and slides it across the floor until he hits a wall or a refrigerator, or my legs. Anything to keep the bag stable. Lick, lick, lick. And then he tilts his head back, with the bag still on it, to see if any crumbs will fall to the floor and runs across the room.
I tried to envision a world where we all lived like dogs, with our toys strewn about and so much happiness found in an empty food bag …
